Popular Nigerian music video director ThankGod Omori, widely known as TG Omori, has alleged that his life is currently under threat following his public stance on same-sex relationships. The award-winning cinematographer became the center of heated controversy after sharing his personal view online, sparking intense social media debates and widespread reactions.
Over the weekend, TG Omori took to X (formerly Twitter) where he openly expressed his belief about same-gender intimacy, writing:
“Having same gender s*x is evil.”
This statement immediately triggered strong backlash, drawing criticism from various online communities.
However, the controversy deepened when Omori claimed that Zikoko Mag, a Nigerian magazine, published an article portraying his statement as a publicity stunt. According to him, this publication has now exposed him to immense danger.
In a follow-up post on X, TG Omori accused the media platform of deliberately putting his safety at risk:
“This is a media house trying to set me up and risk my life by gaslighting a global community they serve to blacklist me for speaking my truth in accordance to the laws of the federal republic of Nigeria.”
He went further to reveal that he has been receiving alarming threats since the article was published, stressing that the situation has become severe.
According to him:
“De@th threats and wishes have been sent to me day n night, threatening my safety n security as a citizen, since after this article was published by @Zikoko_Mag.”
TG Omori’s revelation has sparked another wave of online conversations, with Nigerians debating issues around freedom of expression, media responsibility, and the director’s safety.
