Odumodublvck vs M.I Abaga: Nigerian Rapper Calls Out Veteran for Fence-Sitting in Blaqbonez FeudNigerian hip-hop scene is buzzing with fresh drama as rising star Odumodublvck publicly blasts veteran rapper M.I Abaga, labeling him a “fence-sitter” in the ongoing beef with Chocolate City labelmate Blaqbonez.

The “Declan Rice” hitmaker accuses the iconic M.I of knowing about a supposed plot against him yet choosing neutrality to safeguard his “good guy” image.

This explosive call-out has ignited debates across social media, with fans divided over whether Odumodublvck is disrespecting a legend or exposing hypocrisy in Naija rap.The controversy traces back to deeper tensions within the Nigerian rap community, particularly involving Chocolate City artists. Odumodublvck, real name Tochukwu Ojogwu, has been locked in a heated feud with Blaqbonez, whose real name is Emeka Akumefule.

The beef reportedly escalated when Blaqbonez dissed Odumodublvck in tracks and interviews, claiming superiority in flows and commercial success. Odumodublvck fired back, positioning himself as the authentic voice of the streets versus Blaqbonez’s polished, label-backed style.M.I Abaga, as former Chocolate City CEO and a pivotal figure in Nigerian hip-hop since the 2000s with classics like “Crowd Mentality” and “Talk About It,” finds himself dragged into the mess. Odumodublvck alleges M.I was privy to Blaqbonez’s alleged “plot” – rumored to involve behind-the-scenes maneuvers to undermine Odumodublvck’s rise, possibly through label influence or subtle disses.

Instead of intervening or picking a side, M.I reportedly stayed silent, which Odumodublvck interprets as cowardice.

This isn’t the first time M.I has been accused of playing it safe; past beefs, like his subtle jabs at Vector in the 2019 “The Viper” diss track, showed him navigating industry politics carefully to maintain his elder statesman status.Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, Odumodublvck didn’t hold back:“@MI_Abaga: the whole world will be shocked that I’m addressing you this way, and I know they’ll come for me because you’re great at portraying the ‘good guy.’ “One thing they don’t know is that I don’t care about public opinion like you do.“You stood in front of a blatant lie and chose to sit on the fence like Abuchi. I’ve lost every ounce of respect for you.‘Short man devil, you’re not my OG. You’re nothing but a rat. I bet you won’t reply because I’m telling the truth.’”

The post quickly went viral, amassing thousands of retweets and comments. Supporters of Odumodublvck praised his boldness, arguing that true OGs should defend the culture’s integrity rather than prioritize PR. Critics, however, slammed him for biting the hand that fed Nigerian rap’s growth, with hashtags like #RespectMILegend trending.

Some pointed to M.I’s mentorship of younger acts, including Blaqbonez, as reason for his neutrality – why burn bridges in a tight-knit industry? This Odumodublvck Blaqbonez beef has roots in competitive clashes over who represents the new wave of Naija hip-hop. Odumodublvck’s raw, Pidgin-heavy bars on tracks like “Picanto” contrast Blaqbonez’s witty, Afrobeat-infused style in “Like Ice Spice.”

The M.I involvement adds layers, highlighting generational divides: veterans like M.I (often called the “African Rapper Number One”) versus hungry newcomers unafraid to challenge icons.

As of now, M.I Abaga has not responded to Odumodublvck’s remarks, fueling speculation he’s indeed avoiding the smoke to protect his legacy. Will this escalate into diss tracks, or fizzle out? Nigerian rap fans are glued to X for updates on this M.I Abaga controversy.

With Odumodublvck’s unfiltered energy clashing against established hierarchies, the feud underscores evolving dynamics in Afrohiphop beefs.
