Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has sparked an emotional reaction online after she went public with her frustration and fear over the rising wave of killings across Nigeria.

In a series of Instagram Stories posted on Saturday, the actress broke down in tears as she expressed heartbreak over the worsening state of insecurity and the continued silence from those in authority.

Visibly overwhelmed, Yvonne said she could no longer pretend that all is well when Nigerians are living in fear. She lamented that the country is “bleeding every day,” yet leaders remain unmoved by the deaths, the trauma and the instability affecting millions.

In one of her posts, she wrote a line that has since gone viral:“And that’s how the giant of Africa fell, and turned to an ant.”

According to her, the killings have become so frequent that Nigerians now wake up daily unsure of what tragedy will dominate the headlines. She questioned why those in charge have failed to take decisive action, despite countless pleas from citizens.

In a heartbreaking appeal directed at the presidency and security agencies, the actress asked:
“Can the president even just step in, to save shame, to ask them to at least stop the k!lling until his tenure is over? Is the economical and social suffering alone not enough to make you people have sympathy? Is there nobody out there with sympathy?”

Yvonne said she feels exhausted by the constant cycle of violence and the helplessness Nigerians are forced to live with. She added that many citizens no longer know where to run, who to trust, or what hope to hold on to.

Her emotional breakdown was captured in the video she posted, where she struggled to speak while wiping tears from her face. She said the situation of the country has reached a point where silence is no longer an option.

In her caption, she wrote:“My heart is shattered… We are all we have left, so we have to stand up for each other. #NigeriaIsBleeding.”

The actress stressed that Nigerians must unite to demand accountability and safety. She described the ongoing tragedies as unbearable and insisted that citizens deserve a country where life is valued and protected.

Yvonne Jegede’s outburst has generated massive reactions online, with fans and fellow celebrities expressing support.

Many said her tears reflect the pain of millions who feel abandoned and unheard. Others urged the government to listen to the voices of citizens who are tired of living in fear.

Her message adds to the growing national outcry over insecurity, as more Nigerians call on leaders to urgently take responsibility and protect lives.
