Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has continued to demonstrate his unwavering commitment to supporting veteran actors in the Nigerian film industry, highlighting a legacy of compassion and respect for those who paved the way in cinema.

In a recent Instagram post, Afod shared several photos of himself with Nollywood veterans, expressing the joy and fulfillment he derives from helping those who have contributed significantly to the industry over the years.

Afod’s message was heartfelt and reflective, emphasizing the importance of giving back. He noted that the legacy he is creating for younger generations involves recognizing and uplifting the work of seasoned actors who have dedicated their lives to Nigerian cinema.

“Doing what I do gives me joy. We all should not forget that we will get to that same position one day… Legacy for the younger ones is the mark I’m laying,” he wrote, adding a prayer for those who have financially supported veteran actors over the years.

His passion for this cause is not just words. Recently, Afod raised over N600,000 for veteran actor Baba Ariyo after visiting his home, where the actor has lived as a tenant for the past 40 years.

Afod shared a poignant video showing the poor state of Baba Ariyo’s living conditions, a clip that left fans heartbroken and inspired a wave of generosity from Nigerians.

Over the past few years, Afod has consistently shown support for veterans in various ways. Two months ago, he paid a condolence visit to senior actor Pa Tunbosun Odunsi following the death of his wife.

The emotional visit, which Afod documented on Instagram, left many viewers in tears and highlighted his genuine care for his colleagues.

Afod also visited the late Charles Olumo, reflecting on the actor’s surprising energy and enthusiasm even in old age. In January, he made a passionate appeal for veteran actress Iya Niwen, encouraging colleagues to assist her and bring her back into the film industry

. He similarly visited Lere Paimo, known as Eda Onile Ola, calling on the public and industry colleagues to support the veteran, an effort that received significant responses and donations.

Through these consistent acts of kindness, Kunle Afod has positioned himself as a bridge between Nollywood’s past and its future. His dedication underscores a broader message: that the growth of the industry should include honoring and supporting those who built its foundation.

Fans and colleagues alike have praised his efforts, recognizing that such gestures of goodwill help preserve the dignity and legacy of Nollywood’s pioneers.

Kunle Afod’s work goes beyond philanthropy; it is a testament to the values of respect, empathy, and continuity within the entertainment industry.

By advocating for the welfare of veteran actors, he ensures that their contributions are remembered and celebrated while inspiring a new generation of actors to uphold these values in their careers.

Afod’s legacy is being shaped not just through his performances on screen but through his unwavering commitment to the people who laid the groundwork for Nollywood’s success.
