Popular businessman and lawmaker, Senator Ned Nwoko, on Thursday, November 6, took to his social media platforms to share an in-depth reflection on his life, career, and contributions within and beyond Nigeria.

Nwoko, who represents the Delta North Senatorial District in the 10th Senate (2023), has recently been trending on social media amid renewed conversations surrounding his marriage to Nollywood actress, Regina Daniels.

In his detailed post, the senator said he feels deeply privileged to serve his people and the nation. He disclosed that he was born in December 1960 into the royal family of Idumuje-Ugboko, located in Anioma land, Delta State.

He further revealed that he once served as a member of the House of Representatives in 1999, representing the Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency.

Discussing his education, he stated:
“I was educated in the United Kingdom, where I earned a BA (Hons) in Law & History from the University of Keele and an LLM in Maritime & Commercial Law from King’s College London. I was called to the English Bar at Lincoln’s Inn and later became a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales.”

Nwoko also highlighted that he founded Ned Nwoko & Co Solicitors (London), which was honoured as the Best Black Lawyer of African Descent in England in 1995. He added that he played a key role in the London and Paris Club Loans refund investigation for Nigeria and its 774 Local Government Councils, an effort that secured a landmark judgment of US$3.2 billion, a major victory for financial accountability in Nigeria.

The senator went on to mention some of his achievements, such as owning a resort and supporting youth empowerment initiatives across the country.

As a strong advocate for Igbo unity, Nwoko described himself as a vegetarian, Muslim, non-drinker, and non-smoker.

“I share this not to boast but to remind every Nigerian that with vision, determination, and service, we can make a lasting difference. I remain dedicated to the development of Delta North, Anioma land, and Nigeria at large,” he concluded.
