Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has appealed to authorities to put a stop to prank videos following a recent confrontation at Port Harcourt International Airport.
The incident came to light after a video showed the musician, dressed in beige, in a tense encounter with an unidentified individual while surrounded by airport staff and onlookers. Security officers in blue uniforms were seen stepping in, pulling him away from the commotion, and escorting him to a vehicle in the airport parking area.
The 53-second clip captured pushing and shoving, with one person appearing barefoot and another holding what looked like a belt or whip, as bystanders watched the chaotic scene unfold.
In a video shared on Instagram on Monday, Portable claimed he was targeted by “death pranksters”—people who stage extreme, potentially life-threatening scenarios online to gain attention.
He said, in a mix of English and Yoruba:
“Those people came to prank me. They were death pranksters. It almost turned to cultist level. 10 yellow no fit stand one blue,” emphasizing his resilience during the confrontation.
Portable further accused the pranksters of damaging his reputation and reaffirmed his faith in divine protection.
He added:
“Make Government stop all those Prankers And some fake Bloggers make them stop all this fake news post just because of small fame, why una dey spoil person wey get glory name with una Platforms.”
The singer, known for his hit track “Zazu Zeh,” has previously been involved in controversies, including a period when the Nigerian Police declared him wanted.
