In a significant nationwide initiative, one million copies of the Holy Bible are set to be distributed across Nigeria in honour of Barrister Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The announcement was made during a thanksgiving service held on Sunday at the National Christian Centre in Abuja, marking a milestone in faith-based civic engagement.
The programme, organised by friends of Seyi Tinubu and coordinated by Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, National Chairman of the Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN), is aimed at promoting moral renewal, ethical leadership, and civic responsibility among young Nigerians.
Hon. Enwere explained that the project is meant to inspire positive values rather than serve as a personal celebration.
“The one million Bible project is a gift to the body of Christ and a seed for moral transformation,” Hon. Enwere said. “Through this effort, we hope to restore integrity, compassion, and love for humanity among young Nigerians.”
The distribution is planned through churches and community groups nationwide, reflecting a growing trend of faith-based initiatives seeking to influence societal ethics and youth engagement.
The thanksgiving service was held simultaneously in approximately 40 churches across the country, featuring prayers and messages centered on national renewal. Rev. Ini Ukpuho, Chaplain of the National Christian Centre, officiated the service and led special prayers for the Tinubu family and the nation.
Clergymen from different denominations described the initiative as highly significant, particularly given concerns over declining moral values in society.
In a message read on his behalf, Seyi Tinubu expressed gratitude to the organisers, noting that faith and moral education are vital for fostering responsible citizenship and supporting national development.
The first batch of Bibles has already been presented and is set to reach churches, schools, and youth ministries across Nigeria in the coming weeks. Organisers emphasised that the distribution not only honours Seyi Tinubu but also seeks to inspire ethical leadership and promote moral transformation among young Nigerians.
Observers have praised the initiative for its focus on societal development and the reinforcement of ethical principles. By combining faith, civic responsibility, and youth engagement, the programme seeks to cultivate a generation of Nigerians committed to integrity, service, and community building.
The nationwide project also underscores the role of public figures in influencing positive social values. By associating the initiative with Seyi Tinubu, organisers aim to inspire young people to embrace leadership with moral responsibility and to contribute meaningfully to national development.
As the Bibles reach communities across Nigeria, the organisers hope the project will foster unity, strengthen ethical values, and encourage a renewed commitment to service and integrity among citizens.
The one million Bible initiative represents more than a tribute; it is a call for a moral awakening that engages faith, leadership, and civic duty in shaping the future of the nation.
