Popular Nigerian comedian and reality TV star, DeeOne, has completed a Guinness World Record (GWR) attempt for the longest stand-up comedy performance by an individual, marking another major milestone for Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

The comedian, whose real name is Aderombi Adedayo Martins, began his 52-hour and 42-minute comedy marathon on Wednesday, October 2, 2025, and successfully concluded it in the early hours of Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Pallazzo, located in the Ikeja area of Lagos State. The remarkable feat drew attention from fans, celebrities, and the media across Nigeria.

DeeOne, who first rose to fame through the popular reality show Big Brother Naija, said the record-breaking attempt was born out of his desire to inspire Nigerian youths and dreamers around the world. He explained that the marathon performance was a message of hope and resilience to young people who might be struggling to achieve their goals.

Speaking shortly after completing the event, DeeOne said, “This record attempt was not just about comedy or fame. It was about showing that no goal is too high to achieve when you believe in yourself.

I wanted to prove to every Nigerian youth that determination and consistency can break any barrier. If I can stand for 52 hours cracking jokes, then you can stand for your dreams no matter how tough they seem.”

The atmosphere at Pallazzo was electric as fans and celebrities gathered to cheer him on throughout the performance. The audience was treated to over two days of non-stop laughter, storytelling, and improvisation as DeeOne showcased his endurance and creativity in front of an ever-changing crowd.

Some of Nigeria’s top entertainers and influencers attended the event to show their support. Among the notable figures present were Pamilerin, Acapella, FunnyBone, Uche Maduagwu, Husband Material, EmmaOhMaGod, K-Solo, Constance Owoyemi, Akinolu Jekins, and Gbenga Adeyinka the 1st. Their presence added glamour and energy to the record-breaking atmosphere, as many of them also took turns encouraging DeeOne during his long hours on stage.

Daily Post gathered that DeeOne’s achievement will now undergo official verification by the Guinness World Records before being confirmed as the new record.

As of now, the current holder of the title is American comedian Benny Elbows, who set the record on April 25, 2025, after performing for 40 hours, 16 minutes, and 48 seconds. DeeOne’s 52-hour, 42-minute attempt, if officially recognized, will surpass that record by more than 12 hours.

The event has been widely celebrated online, with fans flooding social media platforms to congratulate DeeOne for putting Nigeria on the global stage once again. Many described his effort as a reflection of the Nigerian spirit — one that thrives on hard work, resilience, and optimism despite challenges.

In his closing remarks, DeeOne thanked his fans, colleagues, and sponsors for their unwavering support throughout the record attempt. “I couldn’t have done this alone,” he said. “To everyone who came out to cheer, prayed for me, or stayed awake through my sets, you are all part of this success. This is for every dreamer out there  your time will come.”

The comedian’s attempt adds to the growing list of Nigerians who have taken on Guinness World Record challenges in recent years, following the likes of Hilda Baci’s cooking marathon, Chef Dammy’s cooking attempt, and other record-breaking efforts by young Nigerians seeking to showcase their talents globally.

As Nigerians await confirmation from the GWR, many believe DeeOne’s name will soon be officially inscribed in the global records, making him the first Nigerian comedian to hold the title for the longest stand-up comedy performance in the world.

His 52-hour performance not only highlighted his endurance as a comedian but also underscored the creative energy and determination within Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

For DeeOne, this record attempt is more than a personal win  it is a testament to the power of perseverance and a message to every youth that, with dedication, no dream is too impossible to achieve
