Dr Michael Nwoko, brother of Senator Ned Nwoko, has called for calm and privacy as the public continues to follow the ongoing marital issues between the senator and his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.
Taking to his Instagram page, Dr Nwoko appealed to fans and well-wishers to respect the family’s privacy and allow the matter to be resolved internally.
“I respectfully crave the indulgence of all fans and people of goodwill to be calm and continue to demonstrate understanding, as whatever is happening between Distinguished Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko and his dear wife, Mrs Regina Daniels Nwoko, is a private family matter. It would be resolved internally. Thank you all, and God bless,” he wrote.
The plea comes in the wake of Senator Ned Nwoko’s public statement attributing the recent tension in their marriage to what he described as Regina Daniels’ “battle with drugs and alcohol abuse.” The senator alleged that his efforts to support her through professional treatment have been met with resistance. He also claimed that the actress recently engaged in violent behaviour at home, assaulting three domestic staff and causing property damage. Ned maintained that he has never been violent toward his wives and urged Regina to continue her rehabilitation.
The controversy follows a string of public interactions between the couple. Just a week before the drama unfolded, Regina had proudly displayed the diamond ring gifted to her by Ned after misplacing her previous one. On her birthday, Ned had praised her as a “creative soul” and a “young woman who had grown into a loving mother with grace,” highlighting her ability to balance creativity and motherhood.
Regina, in a TikTok live session, revealed that her family had initially opposed her marriage to Ned. She dismissed claims that she had no choice in the matter, stating that she had “over 20 boyfriends when I met Ned Nwoko and was visiting one of them when I met Ned.”
In August, Regina shared a video showing Ned expressing concerns about her work ethic, particularly her lack of rest. She admitted feeling embarrassed, kneeling and apologising to him while promising to make changes.
Last year, Regina also addressed critics who suggested she should leave her older husband. She shared a screenshot of a message from Ned expressing concern for her when she went out with friends, insisting she had no intention of leaving the marriage and declaring her commitment, saying she “vowed to die there.”
As public attention continues to focus on the couple, Dr Michael Nwoko’s call for understanding underscores the family’s desire to handle the matter privately while navigating the challenges in their personal lives.
