Nigerian investigative journalist, Kemi Olunloyo, has shared new details about the ongoing marital dispute between Nollywood actress Regina Daniels and her billionaire husband, Senator Ned Nwoko.
The media personality took to her Instagram page to weigh in on the matter following viral reports that Regina Daniels had allegedly cried out over domestic violence in her marriage. In the trending video that surfaced online, the actress was seen surrounded by a group of men while her brother confronted individuals who were allegedly sent by her husband.
Reacting to the controversy, Kemi Olunloyo claimed that Senator Ned Nwoko personally contacted her to clarify what transpired, insisting that he was not home at the time the alleged altercation occurred. According to her, Ned explained that Regina had destroyed some of his property after a domestic disagreement.
“Senator Ned Nwoko told me he was not home on Friday when Regina started destroying cars and windows in the house. He travelled to Warri. Munir, aka Moon, had a slight fever with a temperature up. Regina, being impaired and incoherent, refused to allow the home nurse to attend to Munir, their older son. He said that Gina slapped two nannies and her own driver. He then told me his driver had to return from Delta to take Moon to the hospital. He said he wasn’t at home when Regina’s brother, ‘Sammy and company’, came to fight in his house,” Kemi wrote.
The journalist went on to make further claims, alleging that Ned Nwoko expressed concerns about Regina’s supposed substance use. She stated that the senator was deeply worried about his wife’s behaviour and its potential impact on their children.
“Senator Ned is angry with Regina for what she is doing with substance abuse. He wants the best for her, and she should think about the children. She thinks that these drugs make her happy, and yet, ruining her life without her realising it,” Kemi claimed.
She further quoted Ned as saying that some of Regina’s close friends were influencing her negatively and that despite his frustration, he still wanted to stand by her as a husband.
“Ned told me that even her friends are playing with her mind. He said he wants to be by her side knowing that she has worn him out, but this is marriage after all. He said if she continues to do the same thing, she has to go to the hospital to receive treatment. Even if she does not want to, she has to go. Otherwise, she will have wasted herself, her children, and her consciousness without realising it,” she added.
Kemi Olunloyo also alleged that the senator was unsettled by another incident where Regina supposedly recorded him in a compromising situation, suggesting she might have been under the influence at the time.
“Ned said Gina was filming him in the bathroom while he was about to urinate in the morning, and didn’t know what she was thinking, and felt she was high on substances,” Olunloyo stated.
The unfolding situation has stirred intense debate across social media, with fans, colleagues, and observers expressing mixed reactions to the claims. While some have questioned Kemi Olunloyo’s decision to publicly share such private details, others have urged both Regina and Ned to address their issues privately for the sake of their children.
Neither Regina Daniels nor Ned Nwoko has officially responded to the latest allegations at the time of this report.
