Popular Nigerian singer and songwriter Teniola Apata, popularly known as Teni, has sparked conversations after revealing why she stopped giving out money on Fridays.
In a viral video, Teni explained that she avoids handing out cash on weekends because people tend to spend it on pepper soup instead of investing it in meaningful ways.
“I no dey give anybody money on Friday. No no no! If you give person money on Friday, them go use your money go chop pepper soup," she stated humorously in the video.
Teni recalled an incident where she once gave someone money, believing it was for starting a business. However, she later discovered that the individual spent it on a large plate of catfish pepper soup.
