Former BBNaija star, Ifu Ennada, has opened up about a deeply painful period in her life, recounting how she battled near-death experiences, depression, memory loss, and mental struggles but ultimately found strength through faith in God.
In a heartfelt post shared on her Instagram page, the reality star and actress revealed that she endured an intense 18-month ordeal filled with fear, confusion, and spiritual warfare.
According to her, it all began on July 23, 2025, her birthday, when she woke up one morning unable to remember her name or even recognize her family members.
“It was like my entire life had been erased,” she wrote. “Yet through the Holy Spirit, I didn’t forget God. I remembered Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and the meaning of my name in Hebrews 11:1. I prayed and I held on.”
The actress described the experience as something out of a suspense movie, noting that she faced numerous moments where she felt close to death.
Despite her struggles with depression, exhaustion, and mental disorientation, Ifu said her faith and her mother’s unwavering prayers kept her alive.
She credited her survival to divine intervention, emphasizing that her relationship with God became her source of healing and peace during that dark season.
Reflecting on her journey, the former reality star shared that her recovery took time and required deep spiritual renewal. She admitted that she had been off social media for over a year as she focused on regaining her health, clarity, and connection with God.
“What I went through was more than a physical illness. It was a spiritual and mental attack, but prayer brought me back,” she said.
Ifu Ennada explained that her testimony serves as a reminder that faith can restore what seems lost, and no challenge is too great for God to overcome.
She encouraged others who may be dealing with depression, confusion, or any form of emotional pain not to give up. “Hold on to God,” she urged, adding that her survival is proof that divine grace is real.
Her emotional revelation has sparked mixed reactions online, with fans and fellow celebrities praising her courage to speak publicly about mental health and spirituality. Many commended her for being transparent about a topic often seen as taboo, especially within the entertainment industry.
Since leaving the Big Brother Naija house, Ifu Ennada has built a career as an actress, entrepreneur, and skincare brand owner. Her openness about personal struggles adds another layer to her public image, showing resilience and faith despite fame’s pressures.
As conversations about mental health continue to grow in Nigeria’s entertainment scene, Ifu’s story stands as a powerful testimony of hope, survival, and faith.
Through her message, she reminds her followers that even in the darkest times, healing begins when one chooses to believe and hold on to faith.
Her words resonate deeply: “My life was almost taken from me, but Jesus restored me. Now I’m here to tell the world that God still saves.”
