Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has vowed to expose a colleague she accused of spreading false information about her, following her recent court victory over a defamatory publication.
The case, Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited, was filed after a false story linking her to former senator Dino Melaye was published online, causing reputational damage.
Speaking on her victory, Adunni Ade said, “I won my case – Adunni Ade vs. Polace Media Limited. A false story was published about me, but the truth stood tall.
This judgment reaffirms that privacy matters – and so does integrity. Justice delayed isn’t justice denied.” Her comments were made on October 7, 2025, highlighting her relief and determination to hold those responsible accountable.
The Lagos High Court ruled in favor of the actress, awarding her N20 million in damages. The court also ordered the removal of her name and image from the defamatory publication.
Adunni Ade expressed gratitude to her lawyer, Olumide Babalola, describing him as tireless in handling the case and ensuring her rights were protected.
In a direct warning to those avoiding legal accountability, Adunni stated, “You who are running up and down avoiding court papers, please stand still so you can be served.”
She then addressed the colleague she accuses of feeding the false information, adding, “To you, my fellow actress who told a false story to Cutie Julls, don’t worry very soon the world will know the kind of snake you are. Envy and bitterness live and breathe in you. You are deadly! You must have forgotten what you showed me in my room?”
The actress emphasized that her victory was not only personal but also a statement on the importance of integrity and privacy in public life.
“This judgment proves that no one is above the law. It is a reminder to all that defaming someone can have serious consequences,” she said.
Adunni Ade’s determination to expose wrongdoing in her industry has resonated with fans and colleagues alike, sparking conversations about accountability in the entertainment sector. Many have praised her courage in taking legal action and standing up for her rights.
The case serves as a precedent for celebrities and public figures dealing with defamation in Nigeria, reinforcing the message that false allegations and rumors can be challenged in court.
Adunni Ade concluded by thanking the Nigerian judiciary for upholding justice and ensuring that her privacy and integrity were protected. Her victory has now empowered her to continue her career without the shadow of baseless accusations.
