Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has urged Christians across the world to intensify prayers to prevent the outbreak of a Third World War.
Speaking during the ongoing Holy Ghost Congress at the RCCG Redemption City in Ogun State, the revered cleric reminded worshippers that he had earlier prophesied the possibility of a global war at the start of 2025.
Adeboye expressed deep concern that the world remains on the brink of a devastating conflict. “We are not out of the woods yet,” he told the congregation, warning that the war could still erupt before the year ends if prayers are not fervently offered.
He stressed that the call to prayer was not just to delay the conflict but to ensure it never happens at all. “The prayer should not only be that the war will not break out in 2025, but that it should never happen,” Adeboye said, drawing attention to escalating hostilities in various global hotspots.
The respected preacher linked the rising tensions to ongoing conflicts in the Middle East, where Israel has intensified military operations against Palestine, Iran, Yemen, and other neighbours. The increasing development and stockpiling of nuclear weapons, he warned, pose a significant risk that could ignite a full-scale world war.
Adeboye’s remarks come at a time of heightened anxiety among the international community. Analysts have repeatedly cautioned that geopolitical rivalries, territorial disputes, and arms races could trigger a catastrophic global conflict.
Highlighting the spiritual dimension, Adeboye said the church cannot remain silent. He called on Nigerian Christians and believers worldwide to dedicate themselves to intercessory prayers to avert what he described as an impending disaster.
