Popular Nigerian comedian I Go Save has raised eyebrows online after questioning the frequent hotel raids conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). Taking to his Instagram story, he criticized the anti-graft agency for targeting hotels late at night, hinting humorously at what he believes might be their real intent.
“@officialefcc why una dey always go raid hotels for night? Abi una dey find ashawo? The real big thieves looting the country are home; Go after them and let us applaud you,” he wrote, calling for a shift in focus towards bigger offenders who are allegedly at large within their homes.
I Go Save’s post has sparked wide reactions from social media users. One user, regina_anthony, commented, “Obviously, they’re protecting these politicians and their homes are off limits.” Another, kelsing, wrote, “Dem dey fear politicians wey dey APC.” The sentiments were echoed by udabo.udi, who said, “Bitter truth,” while promisee31 added, “Na hotel owners I blame.”
Other reactions included godwhen_001 lamenting, “I tire oo, person no fit get peace again,” immoral.jaga urging, “Make them dissolve these people,” and Kodiezekwesili boldly claiming, “EFCC is an arméd robbery gang.”
This isn’t the first time the comedian has spoken on pressing societal issues in Nigeria. A few months ago, I Go Save decried the alarming rate of public begging, highlighting how difficult life has become for many Nigerians. He called for moderation, stressing that everyone is facing challenges in the country.
During the previous festive season, he also raised concerns over hunger levels across Nigeria. The comedian revealed that the number of people asking for help reached record levels, urging citizens to show compassion and assist those in need.
In a different news, I Go Save reacted to the recent ban on pornographic websites in Nigeria, questioning how the policy would affect the population. He even suggested that celebrities might consider joining protests, emphasizing that these actions impact “true Nigerians.”
Through his blend of humor and social commentary, I Go Save continues to spark important discussions about governance, social welfare, and civil liberties in Nigeria. His candid remarks on EFCC operations, public hardship, and recent governmental bans demonstrate his commitment to speaking on issues that resonate with everyday Nigerians.
