Nollywood actress Aderonke Ayodele recently revealed her unique approach to handling admirers in the entertainment industry, stating that she always tells men she is dating her boss, Lekan Olatunji. According to the Yoruba film star, Lekan Olatunji has been a guiding force in her career, offering valuable advice and mentoring her on navigating the complexities of Nollywood.
Speaking candidly about her experience, Aderonke explained that she tends to get angry easily, but Lekan Olatunji consistently teaches her patience and composure, helping her maintain professionalism on set.
She recounted that during her early years in Nollywood, many men would try to “toast” her because of her beauty and rising popularity. However, her boss advised her to remain cautious, emphasizing that dating within the film industry should be a matter of choice, not compulsion.
“The advice he gave me has shaped my perspective on relationships in Nollywood,” Aderonke said. She added that she initially resolved never to date anyone in the industry to protect herself, but Lekan Olatunji reminded her that while dating is a personal choice, she must be mindful of her decisions.
Aderonke also revealed that whenever men approach her with romantic interest, she uses Lekan Olatunji’s name to ward them off. Interestingly, she shared that Lekan Olatunji’s wife eventually contacted her, advising her that she didn’t need to use her husband’s name to scare men away and encouraged her to confidently express her feelings directly.
This revelation highlights the close mentorship and personal guidance Aderonke Ayodele receives from her boss while also shedding light on the challenges young actresses face in balancing career growth and personal boundaries in Nollywood. Her story is a testament to the importance of mentorship, self-respect, and making informed choices within the Nigerian film industry.
