Popular content creator, comedian, and streamer, Shank Comics, has addressed ongoing speculations about a supposed rivalry between him and fellow streamer Peller. The entertainer made the clarification during his appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, a podcast hosted by fellow skit maker Isbae U.
In recent months, Shank Comics, whose real name is Adesokan Emmanuel, expanded his creative career by venturing into live streaming. He gained significant visibility after joining Kai Cenat’s Streamer University in the United States, an experience that marked the official beginning of his streaming journey. This new direction led many fans and industry watchers to compare him with Peller, a younger colleague who had already made a name in the streaming space before Shank’s entry.
During the interview, Isbae U brought up the issue directly, asking Shank how his relationship with Peller stands amid the comparisons being drawn between them. The host pointed out that, despite being older in age, Shank only recently entered the streaming industry, while Peller has been active in the field for a longer period.
Responding to the question, Shank dismissed any suggestion of animosity, stressing that there is no rivalry whatsoever between him and Peller. According to him, comparisons are a natural part of the industry but do not necessarily translate into personal conflict.
In his words, “He is my senior colleague. This has nothing to do with age.”
Shank went further to explain that while Peller may be younger than him in years, he has been in the streaming business longer and therefore deserves recognition as a senior colleague. He acknowledged that some level of comparison is unavoidable in the entertainment industry, particularly when two individuals operate in similar spaces. However, he maintained that such comparisons should not be misinterpreted as evidence of hostility or competition.
“Sometimes it’s good to make comparison, but that doesn’t mean that he and Peller are not on good terms,” Shank said, clarifying that he and Peller have maintained a cordial relationship despite the public chatter.
The comedian also described the bond between them as brotherly rather than competitive. He revealed that they interact regularly and share mutual respect, which makes any speculation of rivalry baseless. “He is my senior colleague,” Shank reiterated, underscoring that he sees no reason to downplay Peller’s earlier accomplishments in streaming.
By addressing the issue publicly, Shank Comics not only clarified his stance but also highlighted the importance of respect among creatives, regardless of age differences. His remarks suggest that for him, growth in the entertainment and streaming industry is not about outshining others but about building relationships and carving individual paths.
Shank’s comments serve as a reminder of the supportive networks within Nigeria’s comedy and streaming community, where collaboration and respect often matter more than competition.
