“Provide Evidence of ₦100m Payment to SAN Shittu” — Baba Mohbad Challenges Rumor Mongers

Baba Mohbad, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad, has spoken out strongly against allegations questioning his commitment to seeking justice for his son. Addressing critics who claim he has not been sincere in the fight for justice, Baba Mohbad emphasized that he has been present at all coroner court sessions since the inquest began.

“I have attended all the coroner court sessions—did you think I could have just made excuses to avoid appearing?” Baba Mohbad stated. He cautioned Nigerians against spreading misinformation online, noting that many people are using false narratives to destroy reputations under the guise of fighting for justice. “People go online and spread fake stories to destroy reputations once they have data. You should be mindful of your words so you don’t carry your own problems under the banner of Justice for Moh,” he added.

The grieving father also addressed a viral claim that he allegedly paid ₦100 million to his legal representative, SAN Shittu. Baba Mohbad openly challenged those behind the rumor to provide proof. “Someone claimed I paid up to ₦100 million to SAN Shittu. Can you provide evidence? Who did you send to pay that ₦100m?” he asked.

Clarifying the issue, he disclosed the exact amount paid so far: “I am publicly saying I have only paid ₦24.5 million in total to SAN Shittu. If not for him, Justice for Mohbad would have been destroyed. He has done a lot.”

Baba Mohbad further tendered a heartfelt apology to SAN Shittu over the insults and attacks directed at him online. “I also want to publicly apologize to SAN Shittu for all the insults people have thrown at him,” he said.

This renewed statement comes as the call for Justice for Mohbad continues to dominate public discourse in Nigeria and beyond, with fans and activists demanding a fair and transparent process into the circumstances surrounding the late singer’s tragic death.
