Nollywood Yoruba actress Basira Badia has opened up on why her colleague, the award-winning actor Ibrahim Chatta, can never have a romantic relationship with her.
Speaking candidly in a recent interview, the veteran actress disclosed that Ibrahim Chatta’s taste in women leans strongly towards slim ladies, a preference that automatically disqualifies her since she is plus-sized.
According to Basira Badia, Ibrahim Chatta is highly respected in the Yoruba movie industry for his exceptional acting skills, but when it comes to relationships, he has a very clear type. She said, “Ibrahim Chatta cannot date me because he does not like fat women. He only likes slim girls in our Nollywood industry. That is his personal preference, and I respect it.”
The actress further noted that in the Yoruba film industry, many actors have specific preferences when it comes to love and marriage. For Ibrahim Chatta, his attraction to slim women is not a secret, as colleagues and fans alike are already aware of his taste. Basira Badia emphasized that she has no problem with this, as everyone is entitled to their choices in relationships.
Ibrahim Chatta, known for blockbuster Yoruba films such as Anikulapo, Ewa, and Olokiki Oru, has often been admired for his charisma and versatility on screen. However, his private life has also sparked discussions among fans, particularly regarding his past relationships and marriages.
Basira Badia’s revelation adds a fresh perspective to conversations about body image and relationship preferences in Nollywood. Her honesty also sheds light on how plus-sized women in the entertainment industry are often judged based on appearance rather than talent.
With this disclosure, fans are once again reminded that even within the glitz and glamour of Nollywood, personal preferences and body image debates continue to shape the dynamics of relationships among celebrities.
