Big Brother Naija Season 10 housemate Farida Sultana, popularly known simply as Sultana, has opened up about one of the most defining and painful experiences of her life  being forced into marriage as a teenager.

The revelation came on Sunday night inside the BBNaija house shortly after she emerged as the interim Head of House, a position she is set to defend in the upcoming Monday challenge.

In a candid conversation with fellow housemate Jason Jae, Sultana disclosed that she was forced into marriage at just 15 years old, a situation she described as traumatic but ultimately a source of strength that has shaped her journey.

“I was married off really young as a child,” Sultana said during the heart-to-heart chat. When Jason pressed further, asking for her age at the time, she replied softly, “I was about 15.”

Now a proud mother of two daughters, Aaliyah and Lianora, the BBNaija star revealed that both of her children were delivered through C-section.

While the marriage was never her choice, she credited her stubbornness and inner strength for helping her break free and rebuild her life.

“It wasn’t what I wanted, but I refused to stay down. I fought my way through and found myself again,” she explained.

Her official X account later echoed her words, with her team posting a statement that highlighted her resilience. The post read that she rebuilt her life “brick by brick” with the support of loved ones, learning to embrace her story fully rather than hide from it.

Speaking fondly about her daughters, she described them as the true light of her life. “Aaliyah and Lianora are my world. I love them so much and cherish them with all my heart,” she said with a smile, adding that her tattoos hold deep personal meaning.

“I’m like an onion  the more you peel, the more you discover,” she noted, hinting that her ink is tied to different phases of her journey.

Sultana’s story adds a new layer to her presence on the show, showing fans that beyond the glitz and drama of BBNaija, she represents resilience and survival.

Her team further explained that her participation in BBNaija is not only about personal ambition but also about inspiring young girls, especially those from northern Nigeria who might be facing similar struggles. “She wants them to know that no matter how difficult life may start, their dreams are still valid,” her representatives said.

The revelation has already sparked conversations online, with many viewers praising her courage for speaking up about an issue that remains sensitive in parts of Nigeria.

Child marriage is still prevalent in some communities, and campaigners believe Sultana’s platform could amplify awareness and inspire more young women to fight for their rights.

As she continues her BBNaija journey, fans are beginning to see her not just as a competitor but also as a voice for resilience, motherhood, and empowerment.

Whether or not she wins the N120 million prize, Sultana has already struck a powerful chord with millions of Nigerians who see their own struggles reflected in her story.
