Nollywood actress Dayo Amusa has decided to let go of her feud with the content creator who falsely accused her of being HIV positive. The popular Yoruba movie star, who had earlier vowed to make him a “scapegoat,” took to her Instagram page to announce that she has officially closed the case.
Back in July, NollywoodTimes reported that Dayo Amusa had strongly reacted to the defamatory claims, questioning why bloggers and content creators often spread unverified information. The actress expressed deep concern over how such damaging rumors affect not only celebrities but also their loved ones.
In her latest video shared on Instagram, Dayo Amusa revealed that she initially kept her promise to report the content creator to the police. However, after learning about his personal struggles, she chose forgiveness over punishment.
“I am making this video regarding the peddling issue about myself and a content creator who defamed my character and put out wrong information about my HIV status, which has gone viral and has had people have different opinions about me. I did promise to make him a scapegoat, which I did, but I realise he just lost his mum, he is a 27-year-old boy, and I got to meet his relatives – his uncle, the lawyer,” she explained.
Dayo Amusa further emphasized in her caption that “to err is human, to forgive is divine.” She reminded her fans that making mistakes is part of being human and encouraged the public to remain guided.
Closing her statement, she wrote:
“CASE CLOSED.
To err is human, to forgive is divine.
Making mistakes is a natural and inherent part of being human, they say.
LET’S BE GUIDED.”
With this act of compassion, Dayo Amusa once again proves herself not only as a talented Nollywood actress but also as a woman of strength, empathy, and grace.
