Africa’s richest man, Aliko Dangote, charmed guests with a mix of humor and heartfelt sentiments during the wedding of singer-entrepreneur Mr Eazi (Tosin Ajibade) and billionaire heiress Temi Otedola in the picturesque landscapes of Iceland.
Speaking as the Chairman of the occasion, Dangote described the Nordic country as “a very special place,” noting it was his first visit. He humorously admitted to having slept through much of the journey but emphasized he had turned down several engagements to attend the wedding, highlighting Temi’s significance to his family.
Turning to Mr Eazi, Dangote praised the singer’s humility and impressive business prowess, noting the artist’s operations span 18 African countries. He described him as “calm, humble, and a rare combination of musician and businessman,” adding that Temi was fortunate to have such a partner by her side.
The billionaire also lauded Temi Otedola’s independence and ambition, recalling how she consistently carved her own path rather than relying solely on her family’s fortune. He described her as “entrepreneurial, tough, and determined,” traits he believed would serve the couple well in their marriage.
Offering advice to the newlyweds, Dangote urged them to handle challenges privately, strengthen their partnership, and avoid unnecessary external interference. He also teased guests with a promise to host a “very big party” to celebrate the arrival of their first child, suggesting possible destinations including London, Miami, or even Iceland once again.
Dangote closed his speech by applauding Femi Otedola for organizing what he called “the greatest wedding of the year” and “a truly historic celebration,” leaving guests both amused and inspired.
