Controversial Nollywood actor and social media commentator Uche Maduagwu has taken a swipe at social media activist Verydarkman over his persistent criticisms of actress Iyabo Ojo. Maduagwu, never one to shy away from trending topics, called out Verydarkman, alleging that his continued attacks on Iyabo Ojo have crossed the line from advocacy into what he described as “witchcraft.”
The statement, which has sparked widespread discussion on various platforms, highlights growing concern over Verydarkman's fixation on the Nollywood actress. According to Maduagwu, while Verydarkman initially appeared to champion justice for the late singer Mohbad, his recent behavior suggests a personal grudge rather than a genuine pursuit of justice.
“Verydarkman, your obsession with Iyabo Ojo is now becoming witchcraft. It’s obvious you are not doing justice for Mohbad but fighting Iyabo Ojo personally,” Maduagwu said, in a strongly worded message that has now gone viral.
Maduagwu's comments seem to reflect a sentiment shared by a segment of the public that believes the original purpose of the online campaign for justice for Mohbad is being overshadowed by personal vendettas and social media feuds. The late singer, Mohbad, whose sudden death in 2023 shocked fans and the entertainment industry alike, has been the subject of various investigations and online advocacy efforts. Verydarkman has been among the most vocal online personalities calling for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s demise. However, his repeated verbal assaults on Iyabo Ojo — who has also been active in calling for justice — have raised eyebrows.
Uche Maduagwu, known for his outspoken and often controversial takes, is urging the public and other influencers to remain focused on the core issue: seeking the truth about Mohbad’s death. He emphasized that the unnecessary social media drama detracts from the gravity of the situation and disrespects the memory of the late artist.
Observers note that social media has become a double-edged sword in high-profile cases like Mohbad’s. While it can amplify voices and demand accountability, it can also breed division and shift focus away from justice when personalities make themselves the center of the conversation.
Maduagwu’s message serves as a reminder that advocacy should never become a tool for personal vendettas. Instead, he insists, all efforts should be channeled toward constructive dialogue, truth-finding, and supporting the bereaved family in their quest for justice.
