Popular Nigerian media personality, actress, and influencer Toke Makinwa has officially become a mother. The OAP and fashion icon announced the birth of her first child, a baby girl, whom she named Yakira Eliana, via her Instagram page on Thursday.
Sharing her excitement, the 40-year-old star described the experience as the happiest moment of her life.
“I’m a Mommy. This is the happiest I’ve ever been,” she wrote.
“My precious daughter, the love I never knew existed, my heart in another human being, my love. I have seen the goodness of God in my lifetime. I have seen God move and I no longer just hear of it, I see it. It ended in praise, my miracle is here.”
The new mum went on to reveal her daughter’s full name: Yakira Eliana Olakitan Iyanuoluwa Ikeoluwa Adunola, a combination that reflects deep gratitude and faith.
Introducing her baby to the world, Makinwa added:
“Meet my miracle, Yakira Eliana, Olakitan, Iyanuoluwa, Ikeoluwa, Adunola. My purpose, my reason, my evidence. Thank you for choosing me. Thank you for making me a mother.”
While the identity of her child’s father remains undisclosed, fans and fellow celebrities have flooded her page with congratulatory messages.
Among those who celebrated her was Priscilla Ojo, daughter of Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo, who took to Instagram stories to share an old prophetic message she once received from Toke. According to Priscilla, in March, Makinwa had reached out to her with a revelation and words of encouragement.
In the message, Toke explained that she had dreamt Priscilla received a troubling call. Though she could not remember the details, she felt strongly moved to pray for her and remind her of God’s promise.
“God has not given you the spirit of fear, but of power and love,” Toke had written at the time.
She further urged Priscilla to walk in boldness and trust that God would never forsake her or put her to shame.
The heartwarming exchange has now resurfaced, with Priscilla congratulating Toke Makinwa as she steps into the new chapter of motherhood.
With this announcement, Toke Makinwa joins the growing list of Nigerian celebrities who have embraced motherhood in recent years, marking a new season of joy and fulfillment in her life.
