Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared once again how he believes he will pass away peacefully, on a Sunday, after church service and eating pounded yam.
He made the revelation on Friday, August 8, 2025, during the fourth day of the RCCG’s International Convention themed The Overcomers. According to him, death doesn’t always have to come through illness or suffering, and he believes his transition will be without pain or sickness.
This isn’t the first time the respected clergyman has made such a statement. He reportedly shared a similar vision about two years ago. His remarks have since sparked renewed discussions among believers and observers about faith, destiny, and the spiritual confidence of religious leaders.
During his sermon titled Possess Your Possessions, Adeboye urged Christians not to tolerate sickness, poverty, or oppression. He said it is time for believers to take active spiritual steps to claim what is rightfully theirs through Christ.
He referenced the biblical story of the Israelites taking the Promised Land and pointed out that believers often face opposition in areas such as healing, prosperity, fruitfulness, and long life.
On healing, he explained that Jesus paid the price for it, but the enemy still attempts to steal that blessing. He encouraged members of the church to resist sickness and take hold of divine health through faith.
Speaking on prosperity, Adeboye maintained that God owns all wealth and has made provision for believers not to live in lack. He expressed frustration with those who criticise prosperous Christians and stated that suffering poverty is not God’s will for his people.
He also addressed the issue of long life, reminding his congregation that God’s plan includes longevity. However, he said that this promise requires spiritual warfare to be fulfilled, urging Christians to be alert and to pray.
Adeboye also encouraged women seeking children to stay steadfast in prayer. He used the examples of Hannah and Rachel in the Bible to remind them that fruitfulness is part of the inheritance of God’s people.
In closing, he told worshippers that it is often the things they tolerate that end up disturbing them. According to him, there should be no room in a believer’s life for sickness, barrenness, poverty, or premature death.
He called on his followers to stand their ground in faith and prayer in order to fully possess the blessings that have already been given to them.
The convention continues with thousands of attendees from across Nigeria and beyond, as RCCG members gather in prayer and worship, seeking deeper encounters with God under the leadership of Pastor Adeboye.
