Nigerian singer-songwriter Oluwatosin “Mr Eazi” Ajibade—pioneer of “Banku” music, a fusion of Ghanaian highlife and Nigerian chord structures—first immersed himself in the music scene while studying at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). It was there, around 2008, that he began organizing college gigs and released his debut mixtape About to Blow in 2013, later gaining broader recognition with his breakout single “Skin Tight” featuring Efya.

While music provided his breakthrough, Mr Eazi expanded his horizons beyond entertainment. After briefly working for Schlumberger, he ventured into diverse businesses—from e-commerce and soft drink imports to gold mining and food distribution. In 2019, he launched emPawa Africa, a talent incubation initiative to mentor emerging African artists—supported in part by YouTube Music.

Strategic Investments And Portfolio Movements

Reports in 2023 suggested that Mr Eazi’s venture capital arm, Zagadat Capital, realized a $1 billion return from the sale of music-tech company Vydia to Gamma. However, further investigation indicates that Mr Eazi and Zagadat were not investors in Vydia; they had no ownership stake and hence did not benefit financially from the acquisition. The misunderstanding likely stems from emPawa Africa’s indirect connection via Ghana-based operations, but still, neither entity held an investor position in Vydia.

 A Private Celebration Amidst Stardom

Beyond music and business, Mr Eazi’s personal life has also garnered public interest. He began a romantic relationship with Temi Otedola—the daughter of billionaire Femi Otedola and sister to DJ Cuppy—during the late 2010s. The pair got engaged on April 10, 2022, when Mr Eazi proposed during the filming of his single Legalize’s music video in Venice.

On August 9, 2025, Mr Eazi and Temi Otedola exchanged vows in an intimate wedding held at Hallgrímskirkja Church in Reykjavík, Iceland. The ceremony, attended by close family, entertainers, and notable figures—including comedian Broda Shaggi and business magnate Aliko Dangote—was described as “private” but attended by a select group of well-wishers.
