Afrobeats superstar Davido and his wife Chioma Rowland have crowned their love story with an extravagant white wedding in Miami, Florida, attended by some of Nigeria’s most influential dignitaries and entertainment icons.
The lavish ceremony, which took place at the upscale Mana Wynwood Convention Center, drew a star-studded guest list including billionaire Aliko Dangote, Osun State governor Ademola Adeleke, businessman Obi Cubana, former Senate president Bukola Saraki, UFC champion Kamaru Usman, and Hollywood actor Djimon Hounsou. Also in attendance were Nigerian music stars Teni, Zlatan Ibile, Ghanaian musician Stonebwoy, and entrepreneur Ikuku Michael.
Davido made a grand arrival in a custom white Lamborghini Revuelto, which he described as a personal gift to himself, while Chioma arrived in a pristine white Rolls Royce, her face veiled as she made her way down the aisle. The groom wore a sleek brown tuxedo, and the bride dazzled in a classic white gown.
Among Davido’s groomsmen were his manager Asa Asika, cousin and singer B-Red, talent manager Ubi Franklin, and UFC champion Kamaru Usman. The high-profile event was officiated by three clergymen — Joseph Adebisi Ola, a retired president of the Seventh Day Adventist Nigeria Union Mission; Tunde Ojewole, senior pastor of Lane Region Conference of Seventh Day Adventist, Indianapolis; and David Olubukola Ajide, senior pastor of Victory Sanctuary Seventh Day Adventist, Lekki.
Davido and Chioma’s journey to the altar has been marked by both triumphs and tragedies. The singer proposed to Chioma in 2019, but the couple faced public challenges in 2021. In October 2022, they suffered the devastating loss of their first child, Ifeanyi. By March 2023, Davido revealed that they had married in a private ceremony. They later welcomed twins in October 2023 in the United States and held their traditional wedding in Lagos in June 2024.
Earlier this week, the couple arrived in Florida via a private jet decorated with flowers and a seat marked “MRS” for Chioma. The singer revealed the Miami celebration cost over $3.7 million.
In his emotional wedding speech, Davido said to Chioma:
“Chioma, I have been on many stages, but this is the nervous I have ever been. You are my love, my peace, my home. You came into my life quietly and became the most loudest and beautiful part of it. You saw the real me, the me the world doesn’t see, and you still choose me.”
