It is a somber moment for the Nigerian entertainment industry as friends, family, and colleagues bid farewell to renowned movie and stage director, Kayode Peters, who was finally laid to rest over the weekend.
Peters, whose death was reported in June, passed away in Canada at the age of 49. His colleague and close friend, Steve Onu—popularly known as Yaw—had confirmed the tragic news to The Peoples Gazette.
The respected filmmaker was buried on Saturday, August 2nd, in Canada.
His funeral service took place at the McKersie & Early House Funeral Home, after which his remains were transported to Milton Evergreen Cemetery in Ontario for interment.
Kayode Peters is survived by his wife and children. His passing marks a great loss to Nollywood, where he was celebrated for his vibrant contributions to film and stage productions.
