A well-known Nigerian commentator has broken his silence on the trending “Gehgeh University” conversations, describing the movement as “useless” and a threat to the already declining quality of men in society.

In a lengthy post, he revealed that followers had persistently tagged him on discussions about the self-styled “Gehgeh University,” but he deliberately chose not to engage.

“My followers have been tagging me right, left and centre about that Ubiam university called Gehgeh university. I've deliberately refused to write nor comment on all the posts where they tagged me. I don't waste my energy on such useless things,” he wrote.

He lamented the contradictions he often witnesses in Nigeria, noting that certain happenings could make one “question logicality.” According to him, it was absurd to imagine himself as an experienced man taking lessons on women and relationships from a young content creator.

“Imagine me, an Igbo Odogwu going to sit down to be lectured by a small Urhobo boy of my son's age on how to treat women. What does he know about women or relationship? If not that I don't want to sound stereotypical or to generalize, I would have said that… by ethnic group he, as an Urhobo boy, comes with a factory fitted red flags. Pardon me.”

He referenced a video where the so-called “lecturer” claimed men should never take financial responsibility for women — not girlfriends, not even wives. The writer expressed worry over such teachings, stressing that it only worsens the state of masculinity.

“I've been seriously worried about the rapidly dwindling quality of men. I've written about it here, and people like him want to further make the remaining ones disappear,” he stated.

Criticizing men who have little to offer beyond their sexual identity, he argued that many women now thrive independently and have less need to “settle” for irresponsible men.

“Like now, a woman who is doing well for herself will wake up one day and go and marry one ikwikwi that's keenly listening and taking note from Gehgeh? Na buusu you go just marry.”

He painted a picture of Nigerian society where hardworking women dominate the marketplaces, while many men spend their time in betting shops, beer parlours, and viewing centres.

“If you enter some markets like the main market, Ogbe Ijaw market, Okere market, Igbudu market, Polokor market, Effurun market, Robinson plaza etc, you'll think that men no longer exist… But look into bet Naija shops, you'll erroneously think that you're at men's conference.”

He also accused some of these so-called “noisemakers” of being financially dependent on women, even as they claim to champion “Gehgeh University” ideologies.

For single women, his advice was simple: avoid marrying men who are directionless and confused.

“As some of you are already developing yourselves, make sure that you don't marry down… Not after you've built a career, a business or skill, earning your own money, you'll go and settle for a confused man with no direction in life who takes lectures from a boy who is more confused than them. Blind leading the blind.”

Concluding, he insisted he would never endorse the movement, preferring instead to focus on role models like Alex Hormozi and his wife.

“No matter how they package that Ubiam University, I will never buy into it. I don't even read any post on it. Thank God that my older sons don't even know that he exists. We're still very much busy talking about Alex Hormozi and his wife and how to tap into their success, not a boy that still wears boxers upside-down.”
