Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has addressed the backlash from fans of fellow actress Iyabo Ojo, following a cryptic post she shared online, which many interpreted as a jab at Iyabo.
The drama began when Angela appeared to take shots at an unnamed colleague in relation to controversial singer Naira Marley. Iyabo’s supporters quickly assumed she was the target and stormed Angela’s Instagram page with criticisms.
In response, Angela took to her Instagram Stories to clear the air, urging Iyabo’s fans to stop making false assumptions.
"Stop pushing wrong narratives. I wasn’t talking to Aunty Iyabo," she stated.
She went on to explain that her comments were actually directed at another colleague who had previously asked her for Naira Marley’s contact information. According to Angela, this individual had called her privately to apologise — a conversation that lasted over an hour — but refused to make the apology public.
"I was talking about who was dragging me for Naira’s number. She called me behind to apologise to me for over one hour, but couldn’t say it publicly," Angela revealed. "If you can apologise in private and can’t do so publicly, it is a fake apology."
In a follow-up post, she issued a warning to Iyabo’s fans:
"Be sure of who I am talking to before starting unnecessary fights. Ndiala ndiala," she added.
Despite the controversies surrounding Naira Marley, Angela Okorie remains one of the few celebrities who have continued to publicly associate with him.
