The tragic death of Nigerian music sensation Mohbad continues to raise questions, particularly about the nurse who administered the injection that allegedly led to his death. In a new interview, the late singer’s brother, Adura, shares his account of the events leading up to Mohbad’s sudden death on September 12, 2023, and the mystery surrounding the nurse who injected him.
Adura explained that on September 10th, Mohbad and his team attended a show in Ikorodu organized by Cubana Chief Priest. The crew was split between two Prado SUVs—one carried Mohbad, his wife, child, Primeboy, and two others, while Adura was in the second vehicle. After the event, Mohbad insisted they wait for fellow artist Zlatan Ibile before leaving.
During the wait, a visibly intoxicated Primeboy approached Adura angrily. Unaware of what triggered the outburst, Adura said he may have responded in a way that escalated the tension. Primeboy returned to Mohbad’s car, and shortly after, Adura was informed that Primeboy had physically assaulted Mohbad.
According to Adura, Mohbad sustained a hand injury during the altercation, not from Primeboy’s punch directly, but from punching a broken glass object in retaliation. Despite the incident, they returned home, where tensions lingered but no immediate medical attention was sought.
The next day, Monday, Mohbad complained of pain but refused to go to the hospital. His wife contacted their regular nurse, who wasn’t available. That’s when a friend named Spending offered to call his personal nurse, who agreed to visit the following day.
On Tuesday, September 12, which also marked the five-month birthday of Mohbad’s son, Liam, the nurse arrived at their home to treat Mohbad's hand injury. While Adura was in the kitchen preparing food, the nurse injected Mohbad in his room.
Just 20 minutes later, chaos erupted. Adura heard a loud commotion and rushed upstairs to find Mohbad struggling to breathe and unable to speak. Using hand gestures, the singer signaled that he began feeling ill immediately after receiving the injection.
Panic set in as they rushed to get help. Due to traffic, they resorted to using a motorcycle. Though still breathing, Mohbad was unresponsive. Upon arrival at the hospital, doctors battled to revive him for 20 minutes before declaring him dead.
This tragic chain of events has left fans demanding answers: Who was the nurse that injected Mohbad? What injection was given? These unanswered questions remain at the center of ongoing investigations as the world continues to mourn the loss of one of Nigeria’s brightest music stars.
