Popular Nigerian music executive and talent manager, Soso Soberekon, has stirred social media after offering a staggering N120 million to stage a celebrity boxing match between controversial figures VeryDarkMan and street-hop artiste, Portable.
The proposal comes in the wake of a heated online feud between the two entertainers, which has captured the attention of fans across Nigeria. Taking to his Instagram page on Sunday, July 27, Soso announced his intention to mediate the ongoing verbal war by turning it into a physical contest inside a boxing ring.
According to Soberekon, the celebrity face-off would not only help settle their issues but also provide a form of entertainment that fans are eager to witness. In his bold proposal, he pledged to reward the winner with N100 million, while the loser would walk away with N20 million a generous offer that has shocked many.
He posted, “OFFICIAL BOXING MATCH PROPOSAL: The street’s most talked-about voices… now let your fists do the talking. No more talk! Let’s turn this online cruise into real-life bruises! PORTABLE vs VERYDARKMAN. 2 mouths, 1 ring. Who go survive?”
The proposed venue for the match is the KFT Event Center in Warri, Delta State. Soberekon emphasized that the match would be a true test of character and resolve, calling on both celebrities to sign the dotted line if they are ready to back their words with action. “Talk no dey finish,” he added, daring the duo to take the challenge seriously.
This isn’t the first time Soso has offered financial incentives for celebrity bouts. In April 2025, he pledged N20 million to support a potential rematch between Portable and Speed Darlington. That match, however, never materialized.
With the stakes much higher this time, fans are eager to see if Portable and VeryDarkMan will accept the offer.
The feud between the two celebrities has escalated in recent weeks, with insults, threats, and accusations flying across social media. Portable even went as far as visiting a shrine, allegedly seeking spiritual protection amid claims of theft and sabotage leveled against him by VeryDarkMan.
Interestingly, the drama has also birthed diss tracks and online skits, keeping both men in the spotlight. In response to Soberekon’s offer, Portable reportedly demanded N1 billion instead of the proposed N100 million, insisting that the offer was too small for a man of his stature. Meanwhile, VeryDarkMan has yet to respond officially, though he remains vocal online.
Soso Soberekon’s proposal has sparked widespread conversation about the growing trend of monetizing celebrity feuds and turning them into public spectacles. While some fans believe it would be entertaining, others worry about the message such stunts send to young audiences.
Regardless of public opinion, one thing is certain if both men agree to step into the ring, it could become one of the most-watched celebrity events in Nigeria this year.
