Renowned Nigerian rapper and music producer, Phyno, real name Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike, is making headlines following claims by controversial journalist and social critic, Dr. Kemi Olunloyo, who recently declared him the richest man in Lagos State.
In a viral social media post, Olunloyo alleged that the award-winning rapper has quietly built a massive fortune, investing heavily in real estate in Ikoyi, one of the most expensive and exclusive neighborhoods on Lagos Island. She emphasized that Phyno maintains a low profile and doesn’t flaunt his wealth online, unlike many of his peers in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
According to Olunloyo, Phyno’s humility and quiet success are commendable. She quoted him saying:
> “My housemaid works harder than me — she cleans and does everything — but her money can’t be compared to mine. I noticed she might never build a house just with that amount, so I sent her to the UK to hustle. The grace is different. Help people when you can.”
— Chibuzo Nelson Azubuike (Phyno)
This revelation follows recent reports that the “Fada Fada” crooner acquired a luxurious Lagos mansion valued at over ₦1 billion, adding to his growing real estate portfolio.
Phyno, known for rapping in Igbo language and for hits like "Connect", "High Way", and "So Far So Good", has long been respected for his business acumen. His success story now includes being one of the top celebrity real estate investors in Nigeria, particularly in highbrow areas like Ikoyi and Lekki.
