Nollywood star Yul Edochie has penned a touching tribute to legendary actor Olu Jacobs in honor of his birthday.
Taking to his Instagram page, Yul reflected on the profound influence Olu Jacobs had on his early years in the film industry. He shared how acting alongside the veteran was a pivotal experience that helped shape his career
“One of the best things that happened to me in the early days of my acting career was having the privilege to act with Uncle Olu Jacobs several times,” Yul wrote.
He went on to recall how he would stay behind after filming his scenes to watch Jacobs perform. By closely observing his craft, Yul said he gained valuable knowledge that helped refine his own skills.
“After doing my scenes with him, I would sit and watch him shoot the scenes he had without me. I observed everything he did and I learnt so much,” he said.
Expressing his deep appreciation, Yul described Jacobs as a legend and a towering figure in African cinema, whose legacy continues to inspire.
“I will never forget your impact on my acting career, sir.
Wishing you more life, peace, good health and every good thing the good Lord has in store for you, sir.
Thank you, Sir Olu Jacobs.”
Jacobs, regarded as one of the most respected actors in Nollywood, has left an indelible mark on generations of performers—Yul Edochie among them.
