Popular broadcaster Daddy Freeze has reacted to 2Baba Idibia’s apology following backlash over his recent comments about relationships and his wife, Annie Macaulay.
During a podcast appearance, the legendary singer had remarked that it is challenging for most men to remain sexually faithful to one woman — a statement that drew criticism and eventually led to an apology.
Sharing his thoughts in a live session on Wednesday, Daddy Freeze expressed deep concern about the singer’s current state, revealing he’s been hearing disturbing reports.
“It seems to me there are people who are intentionally trying to detail any possibility of 2Baba going back to his legend status. I don’t know what has turned him into the but this is not the innocent Idibia that I know,” he said.
He recounted a previous experience where he, along with some of 2Baba’s relatives and close friends, waited six hours for a meeting with the singer, who failed to attend.
Daddy Freeze also alleged that 2Baba’s older brother flew in from the United States with plans to take over his management — a decision he firmly opposed.
According to him, he also spoke with Olu Maintain for over an hour and received confidential information he chose not to disclose.
Daddy Freeze insisted the matter has gone beyond what can be resolved physically. “Only prayer can solve 2Baba’s matter as it stands now. After this, I don’t know what to say again,” he added.
