American rapper and YouTube personality Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, has revealed his intention to purchase a home in Nigeria as his legal battle over child custody with ex-partner Halle Bailey continues.
The entertainer, who had earlier expressed a desire to leave the United States due to dissatisfaction with the lifestyle there, seems to be taking steps toward relocating. On Friday, he took to his official X page to share his latest move.
He wrote:
“Finna buy a house in Lagos, Nigeria. What’s a good area?”
This isn’t DDG’s first time expressing interest in Nigeria. Back in March, he hinted at plans to settle in Lagos, and this latest update appears to confirm that he’s actively working toward that goal.
In a related development, DDG’s legal team has addressed reports suggesting that the rapper was denied a restraining order against Halle Bailey. According to his attorney, those reports are inaccurate.
“The court granted DDG a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) based on the serious allegations set forth in his application,” the statement clarified.
The lawyer also noted that the child custody case is still ongoing and will be fully addressed in a future court hearing.
“In the meantime, custody-related issues remain pending and are subject to a full evidentiary hearing, where both parties will have the opportunity to present their claims and defenses,” the attorney added.
