Media personality Toolzo has ignited an online debate after weighing in on the topic of financially supporting parents later in life.
In a post shared via Instagram, Toolzo expressed her surprise at the number of people who disagreed with the idea of taking care of their ageing parents.
She revealed her personal stance, saying she would willingly cover all her mother’s expenses if financially capable.
She also noted that she expects her own children to extend a certain level of support to her when she gets older.
“The amount of people I’ve spoken to that said no to this question surprised me. Is it weird that if I could pick up all my mum’s bills, I would? Likewise, do I expect Chairman and General to look after me? Absolutely to a certain extent. What do you think? Is this too old-fashioned?” she wrote.
Her post has since sparked conversations online, with many weighing in on shifting values around family responsibilities and generational expectations.
