Tobi Adegboyega, the controversial founder of The Nxtion Family—formerly known as SPAC Nation—has revealed he is currently fighting cancer, a personal struggle he shared with his congregation in a pre-recorded sermon aired on Thursday.
The London-based pastor, widely recognized for his bold fashion choices and ministry among young people, explained his absence from church services, saying, “I was diagnosed with cancer. Yes, you heard me right. I’ve been dealing with cancer for the past few months or even more. I just had a major surgery, that’s why I am not there today.”
He went on to say, “I have just fought the battle and I feel the verdict to continue to live was given to me by God for a new level, for a new stage.”
In response to his diagnosis, Adegboyega announced a £100,000 donation to support cancer-related initiatives, particularly those focused on young patients in need of care and awareness.
Though his ministry has drawn admiration for engaging youths and addressing issues like gang violence, Adegboyega has also faced criticism for his extravagant lifestyle and public displays of wealth. His designer wardrobe, luxury cars, and celebrity connections have kept him in the spotlight.
In 2022, his former church, SPAC Nation, was shut down by UK authorities following a High Court decision. The investigation found that the organisation failed to properly explain how over £1.87 million was spent, leading to its closure on grounds of financial mismanagement.
