Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has addressed public backlash over her decision to marry in her husband’s church rather than her own. The Asaba-born star recently held her wedding ceremony with Moc Madu at St. Philips Anglican Church, a place that holds significant meaning for her groom.
Following the ceremony, some fans took to social media questioning her choice, suggesting the wedding should have been held in her own place of worship. However, Ruby responded with firm clarity, stating that the choice reflected her respect for her husband and his leadership in their home.
She explained that marriage is a union where mutual respect and unity should prevail, adding that since her husband is the head of their home, she saw it as appropriate to wed in his church. “When it’s your time, do what suits you,” she said in response to critics, making it clear she stood by her decision without regrets.
Ruby didn’t stop there. She used the opportunity to reaffirm her love for Moc, calling him “My King” and describing their love as something divine. She wrapped up her message by referring to their marriage as “a love story written in heaven,” a testament to her deep affection and commitment.
This isn't the first time Ruby has had to publicly address personal matters. In recent months, she also shut down rumors linking her romantically with the late actor Junior Pope, emphasizing that she is focused on building her home and career.
Ruby's calm but confident response has earned her praise from fans who admire her for staying grounded and prioritizing family values over public opinion. With this chapter now behind her, Ruby seems more focused than ever on building a peaceful and lasting marriage.
