In a shocking incident, a close friend of renowned Nollywood actor Charles Okorocha narrowly escaped death after a section of the ceiling — specifically the POP (Plaster of Paris) — suddenly collapsed inside Charles' residence.
The terrifying event occurred when the friend, identified as Rico, was spending time at the actor's home. Eyewitnesses reported that everything seemed normal until a loud cracking noise was heard, followed by a sudden crash as the ceiling gave way.
According to Charles Okorocha, the incident left everyone in shock. “It happened so fast. One minute we were all talking and the next, the POP just came crashing down on Rico,” he said
Fortunately, although Rico sustained minor injuries, he is reported to be in stable condition and recovering. “We thank God it wasn't worse,” Charles added. “If he had been standing just a few inches in a different spot, it could have been a totally different story.”
The cause of the collapse is still under investigation, though early reports suggest it may have been due to a structural fault or water damage.
The incident serves as a grim reminder of the importance of regular maintenance and structural checks in buildings, especially in residential areas. Fans and colleagues of Charles Okorocha have taken to social media to express relief that no lives were lost and to wish Rico a speedy recovery.
