Nigerian trumpeter Joshua Olusanya, widely known as Trumpet Influencer, has been officially confirmed by Guinness World Records as the new title holder for the Longest Marathon Playing the Trumpet.
This recognition follows a previous attempt in February 2024 that was disqualified after he paused to drink water an action not allowed under GWR rules.
Undeterred by the setback, Olusanya made another attempt in May 2025. This time, he played the trumpet continuously for 25 hours, 30 minutes, and 36 seconds at Terra Kulture in Victoria Island, Lagos, from May 9 to May 10.
After receiving confirmation from Guinness World Records via email, Olusanya shared the news on his Instagram page under the handle @officialbossboss. He expressed deep gratitude to his fans and followers for their encouragement and support throughout the journey.
His achievement has sparked pride among Nigerians and music enthusiasts, with many praising his determination and resilience. The feat marks a significant milestone in Nigeria’s entertainment space, particularly in music and performance art.
Olusanya's recognition by the global records body further cements the country’s growing reputation for producing record-breaking talents across diverse fields. From dance to skipping and now trumpet playing, Nigerians continue to make bold statements on the global stage.
The marathon performance was also seen as a boost for entertainment tourism in Nigeria, drawing attention to local talent and cultural spaces like Terra Kulture.
