Senator Ned Nwoko has fired back at activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, following his criticism regarding the arrest of a TikTok user, Tuma, who had made serious allegations against Nwoko’s wife, actress Regina Daniels.

Several months ago, Tuma posted a video online in which he accused Regina Daniels of infidelity. He claimed she had a boyfriend in Abuja and alleged that he knew the hotel where the two supposedly met. He went as far as saying that Regina’s two children were not fathered by Ned Nwoko.

These accusations prompted Nwoko to take legal action. Tuma was subsequently arrested and remanded in prison as part of the legal proceedings.

Sowore, however, took to Facebook to defend Tuma, criticizing the arrest and claiming that Nwoko “fraudulently secured a remand order” against the content creator. He argued that Tuma’s actions didn’t warrant imprisonment, saying, “He only insulted the wife of a big man. He didn’t commit rape.”

In response, Nwoko addressed the matter publicly via his Instagram page. He posted the original video made by Tuma and blasted both the activist and the TikToker.

Describing them as “busybodies and nonentities,” Nwoko stated that the legal process would not be derailed by online outrage. He asserted:

“Even one million cyber bullies will not stop Tuma from being prosecuted and punished as appropriate.”

The case has stirred a wider debate on freedom of speech, defamation, and the power wielded by public figures in Nigeria’s justice system.
