Popular Nigerian skit maker and singer, Nasboi, has opened up about a disturbing incident involving a police officer who allegedly asked him to send money via a gambling account.
The entertainer took to social media to share the bizarre experience, expressing shock and disappointment at the officer’s actions.
According to Nasboi, he was stopped by a police officer during a routine stop, and the officer demanded money from him.
Upon informing the officer that he had no physical cash on him, Nasboi claimed the officer didn’t back down but instead requested that he transfer the money to a SportyBet account a popular online betting platform in Nigeria.
The comedian said the situation left him dumbfounded, as it not only highlighted a worrying pattern of harassment by some members of the force but also pointed to a new, disturbing level of extortion.
He questioned the audacity and professionalism of the police, calling the incident both embarrassing and unacceptable.
“Imagine being asked to send money to a betting account by someone in uniform,” Nasboi said. “This is no longer about bribes it’s madness.”
