Kazim Adeoti Recalls How Mercy Aigbe’s Integrity Won His Heart, Changed His Perspective

Film producer Kazim Adeoti has opened up about the qualities that made him admire and eventually marry Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, describing her as a woman of rare honesty and strong values.

Speaking on Oyinmomo TV, Adeoti reflected on their first professional encounter in 2011, when Mercy featured in his movie Hajia Jemila. He revealed that her sincere gesture during that period left a lasting impression on him.

“In 2011, she featured in Hajia Jemila. I paid her, and unlike many others who usually complained about the fee, she returned to say there was excess and handed it back,” he said.

Adeoti admitted he had been previously advised against forming close professional bonds with women in the industry. However, Mercy’s character challenged that notion.

“People warned me not to partner with women in the industry, but she completely shifted my mindset. Not only is she beautiful, she’s also grounded in values. That honesty stood out,” he said.

The producer added that he never took back the excess money she returned, and their working relationship continued to flourish — eventually evolving into a personal bond that led to marriage.
