Controversial rapper and fashion mogul Kanye West may have changed his name again this time to “Ye Ye.” According to new business filings submitted to the California Secretary of State, West’s Chief Financial Officer, Hussain Lalani, identified the 48-year-old as “Ye Ye” in documents related to several of his ventures, including Yeezy Apparel, Yeezy Record Label, and Ox Paha Inc. The filings list Ye Ye as the “manager or member” of these companies.
While there has been no official confirmation from West himself or legal proof of a name change, this latest twist has sparked fresh curiosity about the billionaire entertainer’s evolving identity.
This wouldn’t be his first rebranding. Back in 2021, the artist born Kanye Omari West officially shortened his name to “Ye,” citing spiritual reasons.
At the time, he told Big Boy in a radio interview, “I believe ‘ye’ is the most commonly used word in the Bible, and in the Bible it means ‘you.’ So, I’m you, I’m us, it’s us. It went from Kanye, which means the only one, to just Ye being a reflection of our good, our bad, our confusion, everything.”
Now, with this new twist, fans are speculating on whether the “Donda” creator is simply evolving once more or making a business-focused decision tied to branding.
Kanye shares four children North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm with his ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Despite the ups and downs in his personal and professional life, he remains a headline-grabbing figure.
While it’s still unclear if Ye Ye will be the star’s permanent identity, one thing’s for sure Kanye West has never been one to settle into a label for too long.
