Nigerian music icon Peter Okoye has continued to publicly express his frustration with his brothers, Paul and Jude Okoye, amidst a resurfacing family dispute.
According to earlier reports, Peter lashed out at his siblings following a statement issued by their lawyer, which allegedly accused him of lying in court. He claimed their publicist was working hard to tarnish his image and compared his situation to that of former associates, stating, “I am not May D or Cynthia Morgan.”
Cynthia Morgan, who was mentioned in Peter’s post, didn’t take kindly to being referenced. Taking to her Instagram story, she recalled how she was made to feel powerless during her fallout with Jude Okoye. She pointed out that the same treatment is now being meted out to Peter.
In response, Peter Okoye took to social media to clarify his stance. He reminded Cynthia that he had once offered her a lifeline, though she declined.
“In 2020!!! For those who claimed I never stood or fought for Cynthia Morgan. Una Thief Abi Una No Thief? Family Does Not Steal From Family. I Disown Them,” he wrote.
Peter further stated, “My dear C Morgan, the decision I made 3 years ago was never about the firm, money, or power! It was for my FREEDOM! Sad you rejected the contract I gave u. Just because they made you see me as the bad egg. I pray you understand that God has a purpose for everything. Never give up.”
Encouraging her to stay strong, he added: “It’s never too late to be what you might have been. God will surely see you through and carry you through the storm. Keep believing.”
Peter didn’t stop there. He also addressed the long-standing narrative involving his wife, Lola Omotayo. He alleged that his brothers manipulated the public into believing Lola was the cause of the family rift, while the real issue lay elsewhere.
“Now y’all are shocked and surprised to see my tweet on Cynthia Morgan after so many years because some of you were blinded by the narrative they created and made y’all believe my wife was the problem,” he stated. “Meanwhile, it was his wife who owned 80% of the company that diverted PSQUARE’s proceeds for years. Imagine if it were my wife, Lola; by now, the media would have been using her as a headline.”
Peter concluded with a defiant message: “I will continue speaking my truth. Una Thief Abi Una No Thief? Family Does Not Steal From Family. I Disown Them. Love me or hate me. After so many years, I still stand by the truthful words that the truth shall prevail.”
