Nigerian musician and actor Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, has dismissed rumors linking him romantically with the well-known crossdresser, Bobrisky.
This comes amidst ongoing legal proceedings involving social media commentator VeryDarkMan (VDM), who previously circulated an audio clip purported to be a conversation between Falz and Bobrisky during Bobrisky’s incarceration.
Falz has since taken legal steps by filing a defamation lawsuit against VDM for spreading false information.
Speaking to Arise TV recently, Falz provided an update on the status of the case, revealing that the defendant has yet to submit a formal defense after initially attempting to have the case dismissed on jurisdictional grounds. The court rejected that attempt, pushing the matter forward to the next stage.
Addressing the swirling rumors about his relationship with Bobrisky, Falz firmly stated that there was never any romantic connection between them. Instead, he explained that Bobrisky had reached out to him through Instagram seeking assistance during a difficult time.
Falz responded compassionately, as he often does with many others who request help, without expecting anything in return.
Reflecting on the experience, Falz expressed caution about offering support moving forward, noting, “Once bitten, twice shy.” He implied that the ordeal has made him more wary about who he extends help to in the future.
Falz’s clarification aims to put to rest false narratives that have affected his public image and personal life. He emphasized his commitment to addressing the defamation legally, underscoring the importance of truth and accountability in the age of social media rumors. The court case is ongoing, with the next steps expected to further address the defamation claims.
