Renowned Nigerian filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has opened up about her deep passion for directing and storytelling, particularly with her most recent project, Aiyetoro Town.
In a recent Instagram post, Akindele shared her dedication to the film, describing herself as a perfectionist who pays close attention to every detail. She revealed that her love for the craft led her to visit the set multiple times to offer support to the film’s directors and crew.
“I’m passionate about Aiyetoro Town, and my perfectionism drives me to ensure every detail is just right,” she wrote.
The actress also acknowledged the collaborative effort of the production team, specifically mentioning directors @tobimakinde and @pogainc09, as well as the Director of Photography, @adejumo_blessing, for helping bring her vision to life.
“That’s why I stopped by on set several times to support the Directors, @tobimakinde and @pogainc09, and the DOP @adejumo_blessing interpret roles and bring the story to life,” she added.
Highlighting her role behind the camera, Akindele described herself as an "actor’s director" who finds joy in exploring a variety of characters and narratives.
“As an actor’s director, I find it therapeutic to explore different characters and stories,” she said.
Aiyetoro Town marks another milestone in Akindele’s growing body of work and underscores her ongoing commitment to impactful storytelling in Nollywood.
