Filmmaker Daniel Ademinokan, the former husband of Nollywood actress Stella Damasus, has publicly addressed claims made by the actress regarding the circumstances of their separation, stating that her version of events is misleading.
Taking to his Instagram stories, Daniel refuted Stella’s assertion that she discovered their divorce online. To support his side of the story, he shared screenshots of an email allegedly sent by Stella, in which she requested an address where she could send divorce documents.
According to Daniel, the decision to walk away from the marriage was made for the sake of his mental peace and, more importantly, for the wellbeing of his son. He further revealed disturbing allegations, claiming that his son experienced physical abuse during the course of their marriage and once had to cover up injuries with makeup before going to school.
The filmmaker made it clear that he prefers a quiet life and wants to be left out of any public drama. He stated:
> “I usually don’t dignify nonsense with a response, but when silence gets mistaken for ignorance or guilt, it’s only fair to offer a quick 5-minute reality check. Today’s your lucky day.”
Daniel continued with a firm warning:
> “Let me say this clearly,
Na the beginning of fight person dey know. Nobody dey know how e go end end.
Let me be, just as I have left you in peace. I’ve chosen a more private life, so don’t drag me into your soap opera.
You’ve had your five minutes from me.
Over and out.”
Their marriage, which ended in 2020, had initially attracted public attention due to its high-profile nature. At the time of the breakup, reports suggested Daniel had moved out and relocated to a different U.S. state, citing irreconcilable differences.
While Stella Damasus has spoken in various interviews about being shocked by the end of the marriage, Daniel’s recent posts contradict those claims, adding a new layer to the narrative.
So far, Stella has not issued a direct response to Daniel's latest statements. Fans and observers continue to watch the unfolding drama, as both parties navigate their post-divorce realities.
