Nollywood actor Ayo Olaiya has appealed to both the government and the family of late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, to expedite the ongoing investigation into his death.

In a heartfelt message shared on his Instagram page, Olaiya reflected on the legacy Mohbad left behind and emphasized the importance of giving the late artist the justice and peace he deserves.

He wrote, “The life Imole lived while he was alive and the events that followed after he departed this sinful world show that he was born to rule the world. To all the parties concerned: family and government, please hasten your investigation and do the needful. Let the dead rest. Mohbad deserves a proper rest. Rest on legend.”

Olaiya’s statement comes amid continued calls from fans and celebrities for clarity surrounding the singer’s sudden and controversial passing.

Mohbad, a former artist under Naira Marley’s record label, tragically died at the age of 27 on September 12, 2023, under circumstances that remain unclear.

During the Headies Awards, the singer’s partner, Omowunmi, accepted two awards on his behalf – Best Street-Hop Artiste for “Feel Good” and Viewer’s Choice for his collaboration “Egwu” with Chike. In her emotional speech, she stated she doesn’t refer to him as her “late husband” because, to her, he lives on — especially through their son, Liam. She thanked the award organizers for honoring his legacy.

Marking his one-year remembrance in September, Omowunmi penned a deeply emotional tribute, describing the pain of his absence as unbearable. She expressed how difficult life had been since his passing and how it has shaped her journey moving forward.
